I was matched with Emily through Everyday Miracles, after praying for the right doula to support me through the delivery of my 3rd child. After 2 harder deliveries, I had been hoping for a more natural 3rd delivery, but ended up having a breech baby instead, and settling on a c-section.
Emily could not have been more helpful and encouraging as I walked through the options before me with a breech baby. She was supportive and really took the time to understand where I was coming from and my past deliveries. She was very respectful of my decisions and preferences, and offered to still be by my side for the scheduled c-section I ended up deciding to have.
I had no idea how wonderful it could be to have a doula for a c-section! Emily was such a support to me and my husband. I especially appreciated the care and genuineness of her presence in praying for our delivery and being so attentive to needs I didn’t even know I had.
I remember at one point right before heading back to be prepped for surgery getting super nervous and Emily must have seen it on my face cause she just jumped right in to check in with me, listen, pray, and remind me to breath!
I cannot say enough how much of a blessing Emily was through my delivery for both me and my husband, and am so thankful for the kindness and care she showed to our family. I truly enjoyed every minute I got to spend with her through the process and would choose in a heartbeat to have her at another birth in the future! Thank you Emily! - Caitey & Josiah
